my clinical experience
I started my own clinical journey in child and youth mental health in a community-based mental health organization. I worked with children and families in their homes, in an outpatient capacity, and then in a residential/secure treatment program for high risk youth and young offenders.
I then moved into private practice in a specialized and comprehensive DBT treatment program in Toronto and provided therapy to adolescents, adults and parents. I’m currently working in a group private practice providing psychotherapy to adults and parents, and also provide training, clinical and peer consultation.
Current Clinical Focus:
Emotional Sensitivity and Dysregulation
Anxiety
Depression
Borderline Personality Disorder
Suicidality and Self-harm
PTSD
Parenting Challenges - for children, adolescents and young adults.
In my practice, I honour and respect the inner wisdom of all clients and approach therapy from a genuine and compassionate stance. I am LGBTQ+ allied and strive to understand the uniqueness and diversity of individual’s experiences.
my supervision approach
reflective
Recognizing the intuition in every clinician, supervision allows for more in depth exploration into self-processes and interpersonal interactions with clients.
collaborative
I strive to engage in collaborative practice that promotes professional agency while consistently upholding standards of competence and ethical integrity.
supportive
Clinical work can feel heavy, lead to burnout and at times feel isolating. I hope to provide a supportive environment to feel heard and create space to process and cope with the demands of the work.
fostering growth
Supporting the development of knowledge, skills, conceptual understanding, and decision-making abilities.
systemic
This approach considers the multiple systems, perspectives and contexts that lead to effective clinical practice.
